PROGRAMME OVERVIEW

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (DME) will develop the students with fundamental understanding of mechanical knowledge and skills that each learners seek. The field of mechanical engineering involves the design and development of anything considering to be a machine from bicycle to rocket science. Mechanical engineers play vital role in designing, creation, analysis and maintenance of the system /machine/material. Mechanical Engineering covers wide range of engineering aspects such as mechanics, thermodynamics, fluids, productions, and robotics and so on. This course importantly focuses on enabling the students to understand thetheoretical and practical concepts which deal with problem solving skills essential for a range of exciting careers. Student will learn the subjects that covers engineering background subjects, Mechatronics, mechanical principles and materials. The learners can get into an assistant engineer, mechanical design engineer and production engineer and more once after completing this course.

Applied Engineering Mathematics

On successful completion of this module a learner would be able to examine and design engineering situations and work out problems using algebraic methods, trigonometric methods, calculus and statistics and probability.

Basic Engineering Science

  •  Analyse static and dynamic engineering systems
  • Explore the engineering materials and behaviour
  • Learn the scientific principles application for the engineering design and solve engineering problems effectively.
  • Apply DC and AC theory
  • Investigate information and energy control systems.

Engineering Project Design

On successful completion of this module a learner will be able to develop a design specification to meet customer requirements, analyse & evaluate the design solutions, prepare a final design report and understand how the computer-based technology is used in the engineering design process.

Mechatronics

Upon completion of this module, the participants will be able to:

  • Understand the applications of a range of mechatronic systems and products
  • Understand about electro-mechanical models and components in mechatronic systems and products
  • Develop a specification for a mechatronic system or product
  • Apply the mechatronic design philosophies to carry out a design analysis

Engineering Mechanics and Principles

On successful completion of this module a learner will be able to determine the behavioural characteristics of materials subjected to beams, cylinders and loading systems, parameters power transmission and rotating systems.

Strength Of Materials

On successful completion of this module a learner will be able to determine the behavioural characteristics of materials subjected to beams, columns, struts, loading systems and s structural members with the considerations of strain energy
